Stout Family CemeteryJacob Staudt/Stout was born in Switzerland in 1710 and came to America in 1737. Stout, a potter by trade, owned over 800 acres of land in Bucks and Northampton Counties. Jacob Stout, attributed as the first resident of Perkasie. Abraham Stout became the owner of the homestead upon Jacob's death. Noteably, Abraham was a Justice of the Peace and a delegate to the 1790 Constitutional Convention Jacob Stout, his wife, sons and other decendents are buried at the Stout cemetery located near 8th and Chestnut Streets.

Perkasie Historical Society MuseumThe National Park Service approved the nomination of our Lehigh Valley Transit Trolley Station now the Perkasie Historical Society Museum, 513 W. Walnut St, Perkasie, for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.

Perkasie Menlo Park CarouselThe Perkasie Carousel is located in Menlo Park at West Park Avenue and 3rd Street, adjacent to the Menlo Aquatic Center
The Perkasie Historical Society operates the carousel on selected days May through December. |
1832 South Perkasie Covered BridgeThe South Perkasie Covered Bridge was built n 1832 at a cost of $1,329.41. In 1957, Bucks County planned to demolish the 1832 South Perkasie Covered Bridge to replace it with a modern bridge enabling increased car and truck traffic. The Perkasie Historical Society's first project, as an historical society, was moving the covered bridge to Lenape Park.

Covered Bridge Restoration ProjectPerkasie Borough Council formed a covered bridge committee made up of four council historical committee members, the Parks and Recreation and Public Works Directors, two members of Perkasie Historical Society and one member of Bucks County Covered Bridge Society. Mayor Hollenbach is also an ad hoc committee member. This committee will oversee the bridge restoration, fundraising, and securing of available grants. What About Perkasie before Incorporation? |
