The Lehigh Valley Trolley Station was built in 1912. The trolley line, known as the Liberty Bell Line, traveled from Allentown to Philadelphia via Norristown. The station was mainly for passenger service, but freight was also carried. The station was used until the trolleys stopped running in 1951.
From 1962 until 1990, the building was used as the Hartzell-Crouthamel American Legion Post 280.
Since 1990 the building has been owned by the Perkasie Historical Society and used as the Perkasie Historical Society Museum.
March 2023, thanks to the efforts of our volunteers and railfan experts, the Perkasie Historical Society Museum, former Lehigh Valley Transit Trolley Station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
