Stitchery Condominiums
formerly
Hubbert Baseball Factory
815 West Chestnut Street
This three-story brick building was designed by architect Oscar Martin and constructed in 1907 by C.F. Myers. The building was initially used as a pants factory, first by Marie Brown and later by L.M. Schwenk.
In the mid 1930’s the building became home to E. Hubbert and Son, a Perkasie baseball manufacturer. For a number of years, all major league baseballs were stitched in Perkasie, many of them in this building (others at homes of local residents).
The Pennridge Senior Center moved into the building in 1966. For over thirty years this space was used for senior activities. After the Senior Center moved, Habitat for Humanity began an adaptive reuse project of converting the former factory building into six condominium units. In 2010 the new condominiums were dedicated, and the building is referred to as “The Stitchery Condominiums."
