Savacool Mill now Richland Feed Co.
200 South Main Street
William B. Savacool started the mill around 1865. Mr. Savacool was a shipper of veal calves to the New York Market. He would bring animal feed back and sell it to his customers. Eventually milling machinery, powered by a gasoline engine, was installed.
In 1904 he turned the business over to W. Elmer Savacool who changed the attrition mill, grain cleaner, corn cutter and feed mixer from gasoline to electric motors. He also expanded the storage building to hold 150 tons of feed.

H.B. Shelly and Brother purchased the mill in 1940 and operated it until 1960 when the mill was sold to Richland Feed Company. Since 1964, two storage bins, holding 20,000 bushels of grain, were added. Also added were a larger cleaner and mixer and a 50-foot scale.
The mill continues to operate as Richland Feed Company.
