The property for Saint Andrew's Union Church on Walnut St was purchased from Jesse D. Hartzell, the nephew of Rev, John Andrew Strassburger. The cornerstone for the church building was laid in 1867. The Union church building was used jointly by the Lutheran and Reformed Congregations until 1956. When the union church was dissolved, the Reformed congregation bought out the Lutheran congregation.
The Lutheran congregation laid the cornerstone for their new church foundation in 1955. The church was constructed on the former Leister Farm property between Dill and Virginia Avenues. The Reformed church bought the interest of the St. Andrews Lutheran congregation.
On Easter of 1957, the Lutheran congregation had their first service in their new church. In 2005, they dedicated the expanded and renovated church facilities and new fellowship hall.
