In 1922, a meeting was held at the public house of Oscar Myers (Union Hotel) to organize The Perkasie Trust Company. It was decided to build a bank building on Chestnut Street on property that belonged to Jonas Apfelbaum.
The plans of Carl Muller of Philadelphia were accepted, and he was awarded the contract for the building. A house located there was razed in 1923 and rebuilt as a twin home at 503 & 505 West Chestnut. Perkasie Trust Company opened for business on November 15, 1923.
In 1955, Perkasie Trust Company merged with First National Bank of Perkasie and became Bucks County Bank. Perkasie Borough purchased the Perkasie Trust building for use as borough hall in 1956.
In 1979, Perkasie Borough vacated the building. The building remained vacant until 1982 when Continental Bank made the purchase.
Since 1994, Quakertown National Bank has occupied the building as its Perkasie Branch.
