Perkasie Trolley Tunnel
7th and Chestnut
The trolley tunnel was built in 1912 when the Lehigh Valley Transit shortened its route through Perkasie. The tunnel was built to allow the trolley to pass underneath the Reading Railroad. This trolley line was part of the Lehigh Valley Transit Liberty Bell Route, which provided service between Allentown and Philadelphia via Norristown until 1951.
