"Len’s Luncheonette"
now
Mystic Ways Brewing
510 1/2 W. Walnut St.
The building located at 510 ½ West Walnut Street was constructed circa 1925. In 1939, Leonard and Elsie Eldridge purchased the property from Dublin Building and Loan. Len Eldridge opened Eldridge’s Modern Luncheonette in 1940. The luncheonette offered fountain service, sandwiches, candy, and Hershey Ice Cream. The name of the business changed to Eldridge’s Confectionary in 1946. The luncheonette had fifteen cent burgers and a jukebox and was a “hang-out” for high school kids during the 1940’s
Eldridge’s closed the luncheonette in 1969 and sold the property to C. Arthur and Jeanette Rosenberger. After renovations they opened Jeanette’s Kitchen that was home to Jeanette’s Catering Service, operated by Mrs. Rosenberger.
In later years, the building housed a variety of businesses including a bicycle shop, and a secondhand store, and a video game store. In 2022 Mystic Ways Brewing opened their taproom at this location.
