Jimmy’s Shoe Repair
later
Pennridge Chamber
of Commerce
538 West Market Street
The stone house at the corner of Sixth and Market Streets was constructed prior to 1894. During the early 1900’s James Rosenberger ran a small grocery store from the house. George Rantz purchased the building for his home in 1929 and continued the grocery business as Rantz Grocery.
Jimmy Delciotto then purchased the property and in 1943 moved his shoe repair business to the location. He previously operated his business for nine years at the Bourse Building on South Sixth Street. When people walked by the side window (Sixth Street) were Jimmy worked, they would be expected to stop and talk with him. Jimmy Delciotto retired from his shoe repair business in 1976 and passed away in February 1977.
After being used as a day care center for a short time, The Pennridge Chamber of Commerce purchased the building. They began using the first floor for their offices in 1997. The second floor continued to be used as apartments.
In 2020, The Pennridge Chamber of Commerce merged with Upper Bucks Chamber of Commerce. The chamber business was moved to the Quakertown office and the former chamber office was sold to Iyan Bass.
