Samuel Hager built this building in 1856 as a woolen mill.
In 1869 Joseph A. Hendricks purchased the property next to the railroad and opened a general store. The first railroad tickets were sold here. Perkasie’s first post office was located in the building. This location enabled the transport of people, goods between the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia. Transportation services such as the railroad and trolley enabled Perkasie to grow.
In 1922 the building was sold by the Hendricks family.
Walter Herstine who operated a shoe store (1946-1963) purchased the building in 1946.
Over the years the building was the location of Bissey and Baringer Store, Benner & Fluck grocery, Sterners Pharmacy, Herstine Shoes, Fretz Shoes.
In 1975, Irving and Estelle Barger renovated the property, and the property became listed on the Bucks County Historical Places.
At the time of the 1988 fire the Treasure Trove, Cheryl Gilbert Hair Salon and Come Travel were located here.
Today, the building houses the Treasure Trove and Curzon Cannon Chiropractic Clinic. It is the oldest commercial building in the original part of Perkasie.
