Freeman and Minnie Fox started Fox’s Food Market at Fifth Street and Arthur Avenue in 1930. The original business was a combination, grocery, light lunch, and gasoline station and had a store area of 625 square feet. A large addition as added in 1954 and the store became a self-service market. After the death of Freeman Fox in 1956 the store was operated by Minnie Fox and her son Robert.
The building was enlarged three more times and contained over 10,000 square feet of space and in 1979 had 30 full and part time employees. They featured many deli items and “hot” weekly specials, everyday low prices, and courteous service.
After operating the market for many years, Bob and his wife, "Mim" decided to close Fox’s Market in 1993. Schoeller’s Electrical and Mechanical Contractors purchased the building in 1996 and moved in during 1997. Schoeller’s continue to operate their business from this location.
