J. G. Moyer Sawmill now Perkasie Mausoleum
South Ninth Street
In 1926, The Perkasie Mausoleum was constructed on the site of a lumber mill once owned by J. G Moyer.
The mausoleum is of early Egyptian architectural design and is constructed of marble, granite, bronze and concrete. The marble interior has stained glass windows at the end of each of the six side aisles. The cost of construction was $80,000. When constructed, The Perkasie Central News reported that it was the largest mausoleum in the world erected in a town the size of Perkasie.

An addition was made to the mausoleum circa 1950, bringing the total number of crypts to 588 and 24 niches for cremations. A corporation, Perkasie Mausoleum Company, was formed and each crypt owner or descendant received a certificate of ownership. The mausoleum company maintains the property. |
