Lessig’s School House

Private Residence
1319 West Park Avenue
A log building was constructed after 1782 for The Common Union Christian School. This early school was located on donated land at the intersection of Park Avenue and Ridge Road.
Abraham Stout was one of the individuals involved with the organization of the school.
The property was taken over by Rockhill Schools in 1849 and a new school building referred to as Lessig’s School was constructed in 1854. After a part of East Rockhill Township was annexed to Perkasie Borough in 1930, Lessig’s School was closed.
The former school building was later sold and was converted into a residence. In 2009- 2011 the property owners constructed an addition to the original stone school building. The property remains a private residence.
