Henry Van Omeran started Nifty Trouser Company in 1922 as a manufacturer of trousers for the wholesale trade. After Schmidt’s Variety Store vacated 520 West Walnut Street in 1930, Nifty Trouser Company moved into that space.
During the depression, the name of the business was changed to Perkasie Uniform Company, and the company started producing specialty Army, police, and fire uniforms. The company also made custom stock apparel for the Mennonite and Amish trade. After World War II, Perkasie Uniform also sold men’s clothing, specializing in custom made suits. Henry Van Omeran retired in 1977, and the store was sold to Carl Shaffer who operated the business for a few years.

In 1997, Chris Nicolosi purchased the building for his Impact Signs business. When Chris retired in 2019 the sign business closed.
The building was vacant until Groomin Time a dog groomer rented the building from 2022 until 2023. In September 2024, Electric Dreams Pinball Arcade opened after renovations to the building were complete. July 2026. Gator Card Den opened with a grand opening special. |
