Private Residence
432 South Fifth Street
The house located at the corner of Fifth and Elm Streets, was constructed in 1929 for Harvey and Beatrice Allabough. When constructed the house was a one story, Spanish style, stucco house with a bay window on the Elm Street side.
Harvey Allabough was employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance and died in 1960. His wife Beatrice was a long-time Seylar Elementary schoolteacher and continued to live in the house after her husband passed away. She died in 1987 and the house was sold shortly after.
The house was expanded during the late 1980’s and a second floor was added. Siding was applied to give the house a uniform exterior appearance. The house remains a private residence.
